Highland Lake is a historic town. It was a thriving town just after the civil war.. All but the church, a few historic homes and some ditch rider shacks remain along with several newer homes.
The town of Mead is 2 miles. Mead has charming older homes and a few storefronts.
Kelly’s restaurant/bar, post office, bank, dentist, Chiropractor, a fitness center, parks, and a great 3+miles walking /biking path. A multi use building is being built. It’s a cute town.
