We chose this as a family friendly location. My children were small at the time, and it was a perfect weekend get-away- steps away from the beach and with plenty of activities to keep the children entertained, even on rainy days. So many family and friends were able to enjoy a stay with us. As the children grew older and got other committments, we decided to rent it out.
The lot itself is semi-historic. A very old gentleman once told me that the "Yankee Line" cut diagonally across the backyard, that's why the back portion of is still sunken. Sure enough, when I was at the Ft. Fisher museum, I saw on the map there that the yankees dug trenches on our property for the landing and assualt on Ft. Fisher.
