The property is beautiful. Impressive. Spacious. Clean. Initial impression: WOW. If you want to impress guests, this is your place. Check-in process in terms of availability and timeliness of the employee was great--just that the fob system was not a good check-in surprise.
That said, the neighborhood is iffy--I got lost once at night when my phone's walking directions were actually driving directions, and at one point I felt truly terrified. The fob system (2 per group) left us locked out twice when co-workers either (a) did not understand the system or (b) forgot to leave a fob in the condo's lock box in a mad rush to a morning meeting down the street. At one point, we took trash to the garage and did not take phones with us for the quick errand--only to have the elevator refuse to open. Went to the bar next door to try to call maintenance to let us in (they said this has happened before), but all info about VRBO/condo was on our phones and there was no phone number listed nor a way to use a phone in the lobby. Finally we realized we could use the security box outside to try to call and ask for codes to the staircase/floor door. The fireplace did not work--truly disappointing because we had lovely snow outside. There were elaborate directions for how to use the fireplace which made us suspect our problem was not a new one. Same with instructions inside the elevator. The building had a garage with a designated spot for our unit that we saw when taking out trash, but no parking was offered with the listing. So add $59/day at the Sheraton to park or about $16 at the lot nearby if you bring a car and are willing to leave it out overnight in that neighborhood. The place itself was wonderful, but these surprises made the experience less than ideal for a group of business-women attending a conference. Oh, and bring your own good-quality toilet paper if you dislike rice-paper thickness. Also, eye shades, if you like it dark—the shades on windows are not thick enough to make the suites truly dark, though the bunk-bed room was great for that. For the person in the group who likes temps cooler, the king room stayed a lot warmer than the double-suite, even at night.
