We will come back
Spacious, comfortable house with a well-equipped kitchen; great property manager
I stayed in Tree Top Cabin for 5 days in Oct 2017 along with my (adult) brother and sister -- sort of a family reunion that we do annually. We cooked-in every night and lazed around a bit in the mornings, so we got to know the property pretty well. We all agreed that we’d had a wonderful stay and would happily come back again.
Two of the three bedrooms were spacious (one is in fact a master suite) and the third was a little small, but big enough that it’s occupant didn’t feel at all cramped. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of closet space with hangers.
The living room, with two sofas and three overstuffed chairs, was attractively furnished. The TV monitor was large and the TV worked well the one night we used it. We built fires every night but one; the fireplace worked great, and there was plenty of dry wood available.
The kitchen had plenty of counter space plus a central island. All three of us are experienced cooks and we found plenty of pots, pans and other gear we needed for the meals we prepared. We were impressed to discover that some of the knives were even relatively sharp, something we’ve never actually seen in the houses we’ve rented over the years.
We had occasion to email and talk with the property manager several times during our week there, getting some questions answered and a couple small problems resolved. She was very responsive and friendly, even coming over to the house one morning to make sure everything was going well.
We only see two negatives worth calling out. The first is that there are quite a few stairs leading from the garage to the living area. We got a bit winded lugging all our gear up the first day, but they weren’t really a problem after that, The second is that, although there are in fact three bathrooms as the listing states, one of them is at the bottom of those stairs, near the garage and a long way from the bedrooms. Practically speaking, this meant two of us had to share a bathroom: not something we expected, but we adapted.
Overall, this was a very good rental and the property manager did an excellent job. As I said above, we wouldn’t hesitate to rent it again.
Great location, extremely well equipped, spotlessly clean and very comfortable.
We loved Tree Top Cabin and didn’t want to leave. The location is peaceful and perfect for exploring Yosemite. We were concerned about the wildfires and access to the valley but Cheryl gave us detailed information and kept us up to date on local conditions (we visited from the UK). We drove to the El Portal entrance and were glad of the comforts of the cabin at the end of the long days. We visited the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias and Wawona on very quiet days....perfect for us.
The beds were comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed and more. We loved the decor and Yosemite mementos. We would highly recommend this cabin and would love to visit again some day.
Tree Top Cabin was wonderful!
Tree Top Cabin was a wonderful place to stay! The property was very well stocked with everything you need for your stay. I loved the various pictures with captions throughout the house. Quiet and remote but close to surrounding grocery and sights. Yosemite was closed but Sequoia National Park was amazing! Loved the Fish Camp store with friendly staff. Cheryl was great at keeping us informed of the area. I will stay here again! Thanks for allowing us to stay.
Neat and well organized
Clean, well organized vacation rental. Spacious, rustic home. Cheryl, the property manager, was very accommodating to our requests. Enjoyed our stay and the proximity to the park.
Restful week because of Tree Top Cabin
This is a very clean mountain home that has it all: comfy beds, spacious living space, fully stocked kitchen, deck with BBQ and fire pit (gas), wood stove inside, large dining table, laundry, and much more. It is two miles away from Yosemite's south gate entrance. We enjoyed riding the Yosemite Sugar Pine steam train down the road, took numerous hikes, and generally just rested when at the Tree Top Cabin.
