This was a perfect house for us. Beautiful, quiet location. Diane and Mike do a great job, the house was beautiful and had everything we needed. We enjoyed our stay so much that we are planning on coming back next year.
Cozy Vermont Farmhouse - Great Experience
We picked Diane and Mike's farm-house based on a recommendation from a family member who stayed there in the summer. Our family of five came primarily to ski at Sugarbush and normally we try to stay a bit closer to the ski area but we were thrilled with the house and Sugarbush is only about 15 minutes away. The drive to Sugarbush was pretty easy but note you must be prepared in winter for snow and ice on the roadways as the house is not on the main road. Diane and Mike cleared the snow from the driveway very quickly and a plow went through the area frequently and we never had any serious issues driving.
Diane and Mike were very accommodating, we arrived early and they let us in, they set-up a Christmas tree with lights and provided ornaments for us to decorate the tree, they provided fresh eggs, Vermont maple syrup and pancake mix, and there were fresh flowers throughout the house, all little touches that made our stay wonderful. It was quite cold when we were there (sub-zero several days) but we stayed very comfortable inside and we had plenty of firewood for fires in the fireplaces/stoves, and our kids loved the wood-fired sauna, very unique. Diane and Mike live close by and can answer any questions you might have.
The bedrooms were well appointed and the beds comfortable. Plenty of towels and blankets too. We brought lots of food so we did not need to shop and the kitchen had everything we needed for preparing all our meals.
Overall our we had a great experience and would not hesitate to stay here again any time of year.
Thanks Diane and Mike.
Every room was wonderfully equipped and giving you a “zen” vacation! Highly recommend this unique farmhouse w attention to detail and warmth.. Owners are outstanding (they live next door) but you have total privacy yet assistance w activities in the area etc.. We used their snowshoes and hiked the property ... Sauna was exhilarating as was the fireplace w unlimited wood!! Burlington Vt was awesome! Escape Room there recommended... so much fun!!! Diane & Mike positively wonderful to deal with...Enjoy your vacation !!!! The Gallagher’s Luca’s Sibson’s!!
Home Sweet Home
The minute we walked in we knew we were in a special place, from the character of the wood ceilings to the beautiful chef's kitchen and wood stove. This house is perfect in every way, we loved the big comfortable sofa in the den and the wood-burning fireplace gave the house a warm and welcoming feel. The beds were very comfortable and spacious enough to relax. Mike and Diane were just across the creek if we needed anything and Mike plowed the driveway after a heavy snow. Diane brought more wood in the pickup because we could not get enough of the fabulous fireplace!
We ate breakfast several times in Rochester at the Cafe, which was outstanding. We also loved lunch at the Mad Taco in Waitsville (had to have a little bit of Texas). We had a wonderful dinner at the Pitcher Inn in Warren downstairs at Tracks.
Treat yourself to the best of Vermont by booking this place, it will be a place you will never forget. Thank you Mike and Diane!
Perfect Thanksgiving weekend
My husband, 2 yellow labs and I had an amazing Thankgiving at Mike and Diane's farmhouse! Diane could not have been more accommodating, even contacting me ahead of time to see if I needed anything special to cook or serve our meal. Diane stopped over after we arrived with some treats for the pups and a beautiful vase of flowers for the dining room table. The house is perfect, especially the kitchen with the wood burning stove and the large butcher block island. We had fun exploring the area. I would recommend visiting The Collection in Waitsfield for unique items and gifts and also dinner and drinks at The Hydeaway, also in Waitsfield. We will be back when there's some snow to play in!
Cozy with all the comforts of home.
We were really impressed with the hospitality of Mike and Diane. There were thoughtful touches throughout the home. These owners take pride in this property and really treat you like visiting friends. The historic home has tons of character that represents an iconic Vermont farmhouse. The beds were very comfortable with ample high-end bedding. We really felt we were getting a steal with this place! We really enjoyed the landscape, trout pond, and beaver pond!
