St Olaves is a beautiful property,, with lovely victorian features,,,, the location is absolutely perfect at only 7 minutes walk to York walls and city,, and York Museum,, St Olaves church etc.
Our only concerns were, although the toilets were clean,,, the showers and shower heads were not acceptable,,,, completely limescaled up so had to clean before using. Athough lovely bathrooms,, the ceilings were flaking and had mould,,,, one of the lights wasn't working, so we felt like we couldn't feel comfortable!
I don't think the carpets, especially was not clean,,,,, specifically up the stairs,,,, so we had to keep our slippers on.
In the back bedroom is where the boiler is located,, this proved difficult to sleep to start with and wasn't mentioned.
There were also handprints (kids) on the bedroom walls and other areas of the house.
We also had to try and descale the kettle as this wasn't great and we also felt impulsed to buy some cutlery and plates, utensils etc, as the property's was not clean.
Overal it's a beautiful property,, perfect location and such a quiet road to stay, but we were let down with lack of a good house clean and so this let us down in how comfortable we all felt and relaxing, was to start quite difficult.
For the price of the property for 3nights we were expecting a lot more, and none of these issues ,,, so we're let down considerably.
If the property was upheld to good house keeping and good cleanliness (not just the toilets) with these issues then I don't think it would be rivaled.
Such a shame
So because of this I don't feel I would recommend to anyone.
