My fiancé and I frequently visit the Berkshires, but this was our first trip out there heading into the summer months, as well as our first time at this particular location. While we've always felt the Berkshire area is beautiful to begin with, when arriving at the house on Goose Pond, we knew that we were somewhere special. As soon as you pull into the driveway(plenty of parking), the view of the lake right off the back yard will put a smile on your face... perfect spot.
The lake itself is pristine; very clear and was something that we enjoyed immensely. Given it was rather hot during part of our stay, we were cooling off in the lake often. Between kayaking, swimming, and just lounging on the inflatable tubes(all provided with the property), we were happy campers! The lake offered picturesque sunrises and sunsets as well.
The house and the yard were in ideal condition. There are good-size front and back yards that are well-kept. There is also a gas grill that worked great for barbecue. And, since the house has a deck off the back overlooking the lake, it ended up being our preferred dinner spot(though there are plenty of restaurants nearby). The house itself was clean, with plenty of room and comfort for the three of us(our dog included). The kitchen and 2 bathrooms had all the amenities we needed and it's a short drive to the grocery store, which was convenient. The open-concept dining room and living room had plenty of space and light, with a glass sliding door out to the deck and lake side. There are 2 bedrooms, though we only needed the master bedroom, which has a sliding glass window/doorway leading out to a small landing overlooking the water.
We've been to and stayed at other places in the Berkshires; our week-long stay here was definitely our favorite. Between the location of the house on Goose Pond, the peaceful surroundings, access to other spots of interest, and just the overall comfort and quality of our stay was top-notch. We're already looking forward to our return!
