The Villa is situated at the end of the village enjoying lovely country views to the west, and close to all amenities. A track passes to the north side where donkey and cart can be seen regulary passing next to the cottage. Even in the middle of a busy Algarve summer, you can relax and unwind at the cottage or one of the quiet local beaches. For a vibrant night life visit the close by historic port of Lagos, today a cosmopolitan town with various pavement restaurants, cafes and bars.
Figueira now by-passed by the main Lagos to Sagres road, is only 5 minutes from the Parque da Floresta Golf and Leisure resort. Salema, a typical Portuguese fishing village is also only 5 minutes away and has a nice variety of restaurants and bars. 15 mins west lies sagres and the spectacular headland of cape St Vincent, the most south westerly point of Europe. North of St Vincent you can find many wild and rugged beaches. Here you can enjoy some virtually empty beaches by exploring the many dust tracks leading to the coast! Figueira has two quiet and safe beaches within walking distance of the cottage. For the energetic enjoy the many rural and coastal walks, leading as far as the cape itself.
The old village of Figueira is still a typical example of rural Algarve life and virtually unaffected by modern day tourism. Small whitewashed houses in a maze of narrow winding cobbled streets, are now complimented by a few small restaurants, some bars and a couple of minimarkets. Here you can still purchase freshly caught fish and newly baked bread! "
