A lovely old cottage set in beautiful surroundings.
We had a wonderful time. The dogs loved the freedom of the large garden. We hope to return soon.
Charming traditional cottage in a peaceful and relaxing location
Fabulous New Year holiday, very peaceful and relaxing week, walking and cycling with family in a beautiful location.
Short break with the family
Property was great, loved the location enjoyed our stay. Would book it again.
This is our 3rd stay at this cottage. What can I say home from home
A cosy country cottage in a very quiet location
Laithes Mill cottage is located in a very small and quiet village within easy reach of the Lake District and town of Penrith. It is warm, roomy and full of old fashioned charm and character. I would certainly consider staying there again.
Lovely Cottage in a Stunning Location.
The cottage was much larger than we expected. It is hidden from the road and is accessed through a working wood yard, this was no problem and we had complete access to the cottage at all times. We were greeted by William the caretaker, who was lovely and very helpful, he was happy to help with anything we needed.
We had everything we needed, our 11 year old daughter loved the garden and the swing, we spent a lot of time sitting reading by the river at the bottom of the beautiful garden. The cottage was very comfortable and full of character. It had everything we needed for a relaxing week. The beds are super comfy. The sun room is lovely to relax in, with lovely views. There is a piano that our daughter practiced on. The kitchen has everything you need, plenty of pots and pans. (Although if you are tall like hubby read the sign and watch your head when entering the kitchen). We made an apple pie with Apple's from the orchard. We had most meals at the cottage.
There is a pub in the next village, The Sun Inn, we drove and walked back to the cottage, it took less than half an hour ( and I am on crutches) The food was very good, with a good selection. Penrith is less than 10 minutes away. With lots of shops and places to eat. Ullswater only took 20 minutes. There are some lovely walks nearby although some of the pathways are overgrown and some should not be attempted on crutches.
We will definitely return next year.
