This was are second time staying at the cabin, and it was a great stay again. We appreciate how Kirk stays in touch and is more than happy to give you recommendations, We look forward to another stay.
Wonderful Lake House
We stayed for a week at the end of July/beginning of August and had a wonderful time. The cabin is really charming and comfortable. They have just about everything you need there. My husband and I brought our 3 kids and rented their neighbor's pontoon boat. Tons of fishing off the dock for the kids. We felt very comfortable and would definitely go back except that we live in Utah so it's not the easiest trek for us to make. So sad. I highly recommend.
Home away from it all...
We greatly enjoyed our relaxing vacation in this lovely log cabin on beautiful Wabedo Lake, with its 40s décor and many personal touches that made us feel welcome and comfortable. The views of the lake were breathtaking, fishing was excellent, and we saw lots of wildlife. The owners encourage guests to hang up their hummingbird feeder and several came every day. We hiked a nearby trail and enjoyed brief visits to Longville and other towns in the area but kept getting drawn back to the cabin and lake. We look forward to returning in the future.
Fish, fish then fished some more!
The cabin was everything it said it would be. It had EVERYTHING!!
We keep coming back because it’s that good. Great cabin, furnishings and fishing. Always a fun family time.
We love our return guests!! Thanks as always for your kind words and I'm glad you guys had a good stay and successful fishing.
Our first three days were cooler weather and we had a wonderful stay. Cabin is rustic nice furniture and everything you need is provided. The lake view is amazing and so fun to have bikes canoe and kayaks to explore the lake.
Our issue came in day four when it had rained and then weather warmed up to the 70s. That night at dusk the cabin started to fill up with mosquitoes. We closed all the windows but it did not help. It got so bad we left a day early, every morning and night the cabin was full of them. I have never written a negative review before but felt it was such an issue people need to be aware of renting in the Spring.
I believe this is my fault and I’m extremely sorry that you were unable to enjoy your stay! My sincerest apologies.
I can only image that the issue stems from a project that I started earlier in the spring, to rehabilitate the cabin window screens. Unfortunately I didn’t complete my task before I had to head for home, leaving three of the 17 windows unprotected. This issue has since been corrected.
For future renters, please know that all windows now have screens and that this has never been an issue in the past — reference our reviews from previous guests that had spring stays. Spring renters do not fear (but definitely put on bug spray before you head out on your day’s adventures — after all, they don’t joke that the mosquito is the state bird for nothin’)!
Again, my apologies.
